A few days ago, a tragedy struck my suburban home; a death. My first ever clay human crumbled to pieces right after I made him. He was a perfect Harry Potter replica- the scar, the glasses, the collared shirt, the vest, the wand- everything was perfect. I was so pleased with my new figurine that I made an equally awesome Hermione Granger. Hermione went first. She wasn't fully finished yet, but I had spent two hours on her already. Curling each hair and attaching them to her head took the most time, but it all would have been worth it. Her skirt was giving me trouble, and that's when disaster struck. She completely fell apart. Every appendage and detail broke off of her torso. I had to throw her away, but I still had high hopes for Harry. He is, of course, the Chosen One. :) I was putting him in the oven when it happened- his ankle cracked, sending a lone foot to the floor. As I frantically tried to fix his foot, his arm broke off. Soon my palm was covered in tiny detailed lumps of clay.
Today, I tried again, and she survived! Meet my first successful clay person.
