There seems to be a trend in my family: summer obsessions. This summer, as you may know, I've avoided the absurd heat by staying inside with my clay. And to prove that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, my mom is starting her own crafty/cool/bizarre hobby of terrariums. Yes, you heard me correctly. In case you don't know what that is, the dictionary states that a terrarium is "A small enclosure or closed container in which selected living plants and sometimes small land animals, such as turtles and lizards, are kept and observed. " Now we haven't hit the small land animal stage yet, but plants? We got plants. The first two pictures are of the same terrarium that my mom made for my brother. The last picture is of the first one she ever made.
*Don't be offended about my next statement, Mom*
I don't like terrariums. Don't get me wrong, I think it's a great idea. A mini ecosystem! A contained environment that houses the entire water cycle! I made one once in like fourth grade, but it soon became fogged up and I couldn't see my plants. Unfortunately, this has already started to happen with my mom's terrarium. It's basically a fog in a bottle. If you ask me, this obsession is short lived.

As if I wasn't going to comment....
this coming from the girl who's head is in miniatures? Surely you jest.
Besides, terrarium obsession takes the place of garden obsessions. And it's too hot outside to work in the yard.
Love ya anyway.
